Live Aqua Urban Resort Monterrey
"Luxury hotel!! Worth every penny"
I had been here a few times. Staff is very professional and respectfull. The hotel has a very modern architecture. Grand fiesta is on the lower floors with the same concept but cheaper. Breakfast buffet is wonderfull at only $15
"Great View and Location"
Great hotel, I liked just about everything, the location, the service, the room is that new Urban style which is fine. The negatives would be the price and sound quality, if that is the correct way to say it. I could hear the people talking in the room next to mine, just talking you could hear their voices, which might not be that big of a deal, unless they decide to stay up to 2 am, which they did.
"Best business hotel in Monterrey"
Great service, design and location. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Ideal for business travelers. Food and beverage service is good. Gym facilities are clean, well-equipped and with great views of the city.
"Fun and Friendly"
Very nice new hotel, with very friendly staff. Top of the line hotel with everything a person can want. Located in the posh area of Monterrey, close to many good restaurants and shopping areas. The only drawback is that there are two hotels located in the same building, but since both are luxury hotels, it's pretty much the same thing. Amazing stay, I would highly recommend it to every one.
"Poor service, strange room layouts and complicated logistics make this a hotel I don't want to come back to"
In general I'm not much of a fan of the new, urban chic establishments. This new addition to Monterrey's hotels is a strange mix of hidden access, very poor service and complicated logistics, in addition to strange room layouts- I had a booking for the Grand Fiesta Americana (a "normal" hotel in Monterrey) but was "upgraded" to a "wellness suite" in the adjacent Live Aqua which belongs to the same owner. At the special check in facility on the 18th floor I had to wait for a long 20 minutes while the single clerk helped another guest. When I finally got my card key and entered the room I was flummoxed by the room layout. The bathroom is an integral part of the bedroom (which means that a hot shower expels steam and moisture into the living part there being no exhaust fan or window to open). The closets are hidden and one needs to discover how to find and open them. No way to hang a pair of slacks because the closet is too short. The television is HUGE but right in front of the bed makes for difficult vision. Mine didn't work and after I called down to have it checked it took over 30 minutes for someone to arrive and discover that the remote's batteries were dead. Another hour later he arrived with a replacement. The room was full of seashells and other bric a brac but no slippers. The shower is part of the bathtub area and after taking a shower the entire floor is slippery and wet. Towels are a fair distance away so if you bring them in to the shower area they get wet. Service at the breakfast dining room (a la carte only) was extremely slow in spite of me being only 1 of three occupied tables. The menu is very limited and the dishes are expensive and quite small. All in all not a place I'd recommend unless you're willing to reach your room in one elevator, descend to an intermediate floor, walk along a corridor to another elevator in order to reach the meeting rooms or ground floor entrance.
